Elizabeth Rieskamp
Elizabeth received her BSN in nursing from Xavier University, where she was first introduced to Healing Touch from her professors. Elizabeth started her nursing career at UCMC in the Medical ICU, she did float pool for a few years then returned to the MICU where she has been a bedside RN for 17 years. She has always had a passion and interest in the mind-body connection. She has a deep love for her patients and began to see an opportunity to help facilitate healing with her patients through Healing Touch. She has been to recognize there was a need for patients to relax and have some empowerment during their hospital stay. With so much emphasis on the physical in the hospital, Healing Touch helps bridge that by focusing on mental, spiritual, emotional, and the physical component making connections for patients and allowing for deeper healing to take place.
Elizabeth believes strongly in HT and has been on a mission to bring this therapy to patients. She began a Holistic Committee in the hospital to unite healthcare professionals in bringing more holistic care to patients as well as addressing self-care of staff.
Healing Touch is a compassionate energy therapy in which practitioners use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health and self-healing. HT uses gentle, light or near-body touch to clear, balance, energize and support patients in their healing. It creates a deep sense of relaxation so the body activating the benefits of the parasympathetic nervous system. Research supports that HT:

Elizabeth lives on the westside of Cincinnati with her husband, four kids and dog. They attempt to bring mindfulness to their family by focusing on health of the mind, body and soul. Elizabeth also participates in Healing Christ a volunteer program at a local church, bringing Healing Touch to the community.
